>>>Ted,

The Bill of Rights, of which the "right to bear arms" is amendment two, were
proposed in 1789, well after the Revolutionary War, and final approval was
obtained in 1791.<

Hi Bill,

Now here is where the LUG becomes the beautiful thing it is! Thank you Bill
for teaching me something about your Constitution. It's very much
appreciated.

Simply because we as Canadian's and you folks as American's live so close to
each other, and without question, are influenced by each others life styles
and governing bodies. My goodness certainly the TV!

The more we know about how we live together and why we say the things we do
about each other, the stronger the bond between our Nations and people can
become.

I've always thought your "right to bear arms" was part of the original
Constitution due to the fear of the Fore Fathers, the English were going to
return with a great army and re-claim, what at the time was believed to be
rightfully theirs. Maybe again a misunderstanding on my part.

Thank you again for the "right to bear arms" explanation.

There are times this LUG is the best damn place in the world to learn about
each other as human beings!

Now the fly rod?

Do you have a license to carry such a dangerous weapon? ;-)

Cheers,

ted
