Subject: [Leica] Cameras banned

The New York Times ran a story a few months ago about how a person in the
subway was arrested for taking a photo. It is legal to take photos in the
subway. The police don't seem to know that. The arrested photographer did.
He went to court, won and it cost City more than $30,000 for the false
arrest.?
Even if were against the law to ban photography in public place, it would be
a delusion to think one could stop photographs from being taken in an age of
cellphone cameras and the like.
Why don't they ban guns instead?
My guess is that one is more likely to harmed by someone's access to guns
than by their possession of a camera.
