This whole "great image/camera" discussion
revolves around the photographer and their choice of tool.

And the passionate artist craftsman (or woman)
will always surface with some surprise use of a tool
that no one else considered for that application.

Paul strand could have chosen a rollei, or whatever
he chose an 8x10 camera with a prism on the lens
for his street work in Egypt.
That work looks the way it does
because of the man and his choice.

We know not
what the future holds
to delight our eyes
nor what primitive
or techno-marvel
tool
will deliver it to us.
