This may be true Frank.
I don't know.

However, it seems intuitively unlikely to me.
I've only ever seen this "highest end" large sensor gear in the  
studio (or location shoot).
I've never seen a "rich amateur" carrying this large sensor gear.
It is (until the S2) bulky, heavy, slow and
requires serious computer time and skill to
get to the end result
(I suppose one could hand the files to one's lightroom tech on staff).

I would not doubt that the S2
may find its way into the hands of rich amateurs
because it's not much bigger than the biggest Nikon or Canon
and would certainly look good
on the hood of the "right" automobile,
in the galley of the "right" yacht or ship
or against the Armani fabric.
