I've used Iron Mountain's Connected service for years. It's a professional
backup service that wakes up every night on my pc and uploads all changed or
new files to an offsite location (including .dng's, .jpg's, .doc's - any
file type and/or drive I've specified), probably to some cave in Afghanistan
somewhere. :-) No chance of falling into bad hands there. :-) I equate the
cost of doing this to buying insurance for a major catastrophe. Some day it
may be worth it.

There are "off site" storage solution services, like Iron
Mountain. Not sure how this would apply to photo data or if it is
cost effective
