Interesting Tina. When I got my first filter I did quite a bit of with
and without comparisons and found the colour to be much more saturated
with the filter on, and green grass, in particular, to be quite the
wrong colour in full sun without filters. I have used them for
everything ever since.
The man made material problem is not just black either, most man made
fibres of any colour are wildly out unfiltered, though the black is
the most obvious. I had a picture of one of my grandchildren in a
pushchair taken before I got any filters and the colours are a Monty
Python sketch short of reality!
Maybe I am not being conscientious enough on my white balance.
cheers,
Frank
