Have you upgraded Adobe LightRoom in the interim?  All of a sudden I'm
seeing (in v2.6) the addition of what I would call guesses at the
aperture value in the exif data.

It doesn't improve my photographs after I've made them, but if it was
accurate it might give an occasional plonker like me some idea about
what I did right or wrong.  As it is, though, it is just one of those
little mysteries of life.
