Maybe the important part of the quote is "it won't be a digital SLR FROM
LEICA"

If some other company is thinking of a body that can be used with any
number of legacy mounts, they could be on to a good thing.

A full-frame digital body with interchangeable (or optional) mounts for
Leica-R, Pentax-K, Contax/Yashica, Minolta, Nikon, M42, Miranda etc, etc
could well find a market.

There are millions of rarely used good lenses out there. Adapters are
only a stop-gap solution.

I'm thinking along the lines of an FF version of the new modular Ricoh
camera (GXR)

Cheers
Douglas
