Good point. You can only use so much equipment. 

The X100 looks slick. The APS-c sensor is appealing. I'm sure the lens
is excellent. I've been following the X100. But it would likely just
replace my GF1, which is also a wonderful little camera (that also
happens to take Leica lenses.) 

I'm not sure the X100 IQ would be a huge step up from the GF1. If I
really need IQ I'll use my D700, again with Leica lenses. 

I've gone the longest stretch I can remember not buying any new camera
equipment. I like what I have right now. DSLR's development has matured.
Now the race is on with smaller cameras. The X100 has sex appeal, no
doubt.

Frank,
Very few people can afford to have a body for each use from each
manufacturer! (-: With a set of lenses for each. No wonder you do not
use any one body a lot!
Most of us have to find compromises somewhere...
