I don't think there are enough collectors to make any difference to the 
price of useable Leica gear. All the film cameras are readily available 
secondhand at fairly stable prices. The rare stuff and prototypes are only 
valuable because more people want one than there are available...
They are unlikely to be used since they are for enthusiasts interest rather 
than particularly special performance (apart from 35mm f1.4 aspherical).
Think of it like cars. Ferraris were always expensive but there are plenty 
of their production models on sale at secondhand prices which are still 
dear, but much less than new. Some of the very rare ones are worth 10s of 
millions, but don't get used much, just for fun.
