Tell you what--I'll just leave them as I scan them, without lightening, and
we'll see how it goes.

The images look sensational on Facebook, though, pre-lightening.  Perhaps
it's the way my machine adds gain (or contrast compression) with the LUG
gallery and photo viewer software.

you may see a "darkening" that we do not.
I have to agree with Alan
especially on this last post.
very washed out looking.

and others do seem to lack "black."

(though not all)
