Kathy's little dogwood is about nineteen years old, and only about seven
feet tall

A couple years after the boys and I planted it, Coco, our Lab puppy chewed
it up, and almost killed it. I let it alone, trimming what I needed to, and
it came back.

Then a few years later, in 2002 a limb fell out of our oak tree, and smashed
it to the ground.

It is back, and blooms every year now.
