Subject: [Leica] Which Lens to buy for $2500

If it were me, I'd go for an ASPH Summicron.

I've owned a 35 ver IV and a pre-asph 'lux. Soon after it was introduced
I bought an ASPH Summilux. That became my favorite 35. At the time
nothing could touch it. (I dropped it once. That hurt. Thankfully Sherry
Krauter made it like new again. It's still my favorite M lens.)

Today I think the ASPH 'cron and 'lux are in the same ballpark. 'Cron is
smaller and 'lux is faster, obviously. These days I think I prefer small
over fast.

I was looking at completed sales for 35mm summicron and summilux lenses.
I
noticed that for between $2000 and $2500 you could purchase (excellent
used
condition of course) either a version IV summicron, an asph summicron or
a
pre-asph summilux. Which one?
