I see...kinda figured you may have tried it.  It works
nicely as is IMHO.

I did lay it out with the journal broken up into parts but it created a
disjointedness since there aren't specifically photos which go with the
context of the journal. I felt that it watered down the journal by
segmenting it. There are also only two places where it can be broken up
effectively but then the visual element of the journal photos would
have had to have been omitted.
