Yes, the parallax and focusing become very problematic because of the
shallow depth-of-field. Correcting a lens that fast that close is
also difficult. The Canon Ef 50mm f1.0 focuses to 0.6m but its
performance drops enormously closer than 1m, despite floating and
aspherical elements.
