The water in my place has a lot of sediment or something. I have to use
distilled water for my final rinse (and my washing sequence). It
stinks, especially since I didn't have to do this in my previous
apartment, but the only way I could get rid of the crud while drying was
to use distilled water. Fortunately I have a distilled water tap at
work :)

As far as Photo-Flo goes, I've listened to the people who say use none
or one drop, etc. That was bad advice in my opinion. I would say
figure out the dilution for yourself. I did that and it wasn't any of
the dilutions suggested to me. 1 drop WAS NOT enough. Nowhere near.
Kodak's 1:200 was a bit much. I settled on 1:300, which is conveniently
about 1 drop from MY eyedropper per ounce of wash water. The easiest
way to figure out how much you need is to either start with no Photo-Flo
(or Kodak's suggested dilution) and slowly add (or remove) Photo-Flo to
your final wash on successive rolls. Assuming water drying marks means
not enough Photo-Flo, and Photo-Flo scum means too much, when you that
you have neither on your dried negatives, you've found your dilution.
