I got my Lowepro Stealth Reporter 500 AW the day before I deployed to
Guam in 2003. One tropical storm, one typhoon and daily afternoon
showers later, all my gear was dry (when in the bag.) I had to cover
all the projects that the 'Bees were doing come rain or shine.

5 months later I took that bag on a one month field exercise in Fort
Hunter Ligget, CA. Daily patrols up and down hills, dropping into
fighting positions, whatever, the bag was perfect.

A few months after that I deployed to Kuwait then Iraq. I had the bag
on me every moment of every day loaded with enough gear that the
original strap clips bent so they had to be replaced out there. The bag
saw mortar and rocket attacks, fell on the ground a bunch of times a
day, every day. It was dragged across 7 ton MTVR beds numerous times,
sat in the back of HMMWVs being jostled around on convoys and survived
weeks of patrols in Fallujah proper.

After that, the bag has traveled with me everywhere I've gone and taken
a camera except my most recent trip to Portland, Oregon (I needed a
backpack so I took my Tenba.)

The Lowepro still looks relatively new and everything works perfectly.
