What software are you using?

I have a Nikon 4000 attached to an iMac running Mac OS 10.7.4 and I use the
latest version of Vuescan and it works just fine. I have it in mind the
Nikon software won't work with the latest OSs and you have to use Vuescan
or something else but my memory is not at all what it once might have been.

If you do have to send it in I would also recommend Nikon if they will
still work on it. They did a CLA on mine 6 or 7 or so years ago for not an
excessive amount of money or time.
