Hi Herb,

Northern Germany, Hanover to be precise.

I actually thought that most of the species in our tree 
were insectivorous - or at least omnivorous - maybe 
they just visit our cherries for dessert:-)
We have an early ripening sort of cherry tree (for the 
gardeners out there a Burlat Cherry) , so the birds all 
seem to converge on our garden

The worst thing is that they just peck and pick and 
throw down more cherries than they eat (and shit on the 
rest!).
