I actually don't want to do real editing on an iPad. John may. :)

My needs were simply to categorize & rate pictures taken on a daily basis 
when I travel light (no laptop, just iPad) and sync that back to my laptop 
when I get home. iPhoto might be suitable but then I would have to buy a 
current generation iPad.
