Hi Luggers,
For a change of pace from hummingbirds and eagles here are some pictures of
the cars of summer on Pender Island.
Pender has a population of about 2000 people in the winter - and in the
summer
that swells to about 4000. Most residents, whether summer or full time are
retired,
and they bring with them the cars of their youth. Three examples:

This 1928 Ford Model A is owned by one of the workers at the local Home
Hardware.
I asked him whether he had restored it and he somewhat sheepishly told me
that he
had bought it already done - and that it should be cleaned up again soon.
Looked good to me.

This 1935 Ford Roadster with rumble seat is on the island every summer for
the past few years
but I don't think it stays here for the winter. It is a very nice
restoration and always draws a crowd.

Finally here is a 1958 Chev Impala hardtop in top condition. This car took
me back to my youth
when I was just getting my driver's license and crazy about cars. From the
period I can still identify
most cars from the mid late 50's and early 60's by just looking at them
because of the amount of time
I then put in studying them.

All taken with the Fuji XE 1 and either the 18 - 55 zoom or the 35 f1.4.
Please look large, C&C always welcome.

Cheers
Howard
