The "peak" refers to the currently expected quality similar to, lets say M9
or 1-3 stops better. Then it's just a matter of physics of the pixel well.
Unless we create microlens/sensors that can suck in more light, or use a
stacked arrangement like the Foveon (which no one else uses because it
sucks in other ways), the end is near :-)
