All good to know, Geoff and Sony: stuff I didn't know as just a consumer of
former products. I loved the fidelity of my Betamax: used to play and watch
great movies, esp. opera's, over and over. Had a very nice collection.
I guess once burned, shame on me...
As for the M8, I'm not sure that info was available to those of us not well
connected to Leica: not widely announced for what I recall. Glad to hear
it: Means my M240 may have a useful life longer than 3-5 years, though my
desire for the next best from Leica may not last that long :-)

I guess the bottom line is that the Leica takes the images I want and I
love using it. Hard to say about most other consumables: my car does the
same as does the Alpa/Phase system. 2 seems to be plenty for a non-traveler
like me. I did buy the Fuji for Jane, my wife, which I can use as a backup
if ever needed.

And I do love the innovative thinking of Sony and Fuji: I think Leica will
certainly use some of their ideas in the future. Will certainly be slow to
market as per Leica's long history, but it will be quality and Leica like
in handling no doubt.

Thanks again for the education!
