Subject: Re: [Leica] COMPLETE Serial Numbers, Please!

Geeee.....as the new kid on the block I certainly do not care to be the
reason behind a bruhaha, but I am quite familiar with the s/n 999999XX
convention from my experience with other photo lists, Olympus OM
specifically. In private communication I am always complete in my
disclosures. However, in open list, I find making things a little more
sporting for the riff-raff appropriate. While I agree such a claim may not
hold up under US law, spoon feeding complete s/n's does make it all too easy
for any crackpot to make a *claim* from which I must mount a reasonable
defense; a distraction I simply don't have the patience to make easy for
anyone. All but the last two digits is sufficient information to make an
identification, which is all I seek.
