Ahhh, that's why I like licking my Leica --- have I had my lithium today???

Seriously, though, I use glycerin-based liquid saddle soap (Leather New by
Farnam).  It's great for saddles, tack, automobiles, and cameras.  I use it on
my Rolleis, Leicas, leather bags, straps, etc.  The only chip on my 35
year-old M3 is from the last CLA and it is by the baseplate mounting lug.
