I'm pretty sure my eyes aren't Leica. They've been autofocus for as
long as I can remember.

But more seriously, I'm going to leave my eyes the way they are. I've
needed glasses since I was 13 or so, and they are an incredible
nuisance at times. However, since I passed 50 my accommodation is not
so good anymore, and now I have the gradual bi-focal type. So:

a) Even if I had my eyes surgically adjusted so that I had 20/20
vision, I would still need glasses for reading and sitting in front
of the computer.

b) I don't want anyone screwing with my eyes. I want them to last
what's left of my lifetime, and I've gotten really attached to them.
Even a remote chance of blindness or serious loss is not worth it.

When I go skiing, I wear contacts, and it works well. When I go
diving, I put in one contact, so that one eye can see closeup, and I
can work the camera controls, and the other eye can see distance.
Works wonderfully. Otherwise, I wear my glasses, except when I go to
sleep. My dreams seem to be in sharp focus even without glasses.
