The worst offenders (like Heavysteam) will make completely fabricated observations such as everyone on LUG hates all the Cosina Voigtlander equipment because it isn't Leica. All sorts of class issues get dragged into the most innocent threads on equipment, if Leica is associated with the threads. Thank God they haven't found out about the Mont Blanc, Mercedes and single malt digressions here! :-) I've found that if you eliminate any postings on the 35mm.equip newsgroup sent by Heavysteam and Tony Polson, it cuts the anti-Leica rhetoric by at least half.
