But I did manage to dig up a couple of shots that I remember shooting with the Summi 28. Please refer to: http://homepage.mac.com/jplaurel/PhotoAlbum6.html The shot of the Land Rovers in the Kaokoveldt was taken at around 1/1000th sec @ f5.6. The other shot taken in Windhoek was done in the early morning and, if I remember correctly, at about 1/250th @ f5.6 or so. I looked at your images and it does seem that you have a problem there. I'd expect pretty even illumination from f4.0 on, and your lens still exhibits pretty severe light falloff stopped down. Since you are not using a hood or filters, I would have to agree with the others who have said there is a defect. But it it not a design problem, as you can see from my pics.
