Hi Adam,
The alternate is the better of the two. Why?

When I opened the main my eyes went right to the out of focus and brighter
arms folded in the foreground. Therefore a distraction from an attractive
face.

The alternate, >http://www.splitsecondfilms.com/2004PAW/Wk3-Cathy-Alt.jpg<

I like the direct into the camera eyes and look, not often I say that
because it doesn't work in many cases, here it does. Beautiful eyes!

The sidelight has a good counter balance soft fill on her left side and even
though I feel it's a slightly tight crop it works because it strengthens her
eyes.

I trust having an attractive niece like this for a visit you made good use
of her face and blew a ton of film working the light, eyes/face for every
possibility. :-) Probably a half dozen rolls would be about right! ;-)
