Baseball is indeed a nice sport. When I moved to the US from Denmark in 1983, my knowledge of the sport was limited to what one learns from Peanuts. But since I like watching sports on TV, and the playoffs were on, I asked my Puerto Rican wife to give me a brief explanation of the rules and took it from there. Later, back in Europe, my son played Little League in Brussels--there are enough Americans there to support that. He gave up baseball partly because we left Belgium and partly because of an unfortunately tendency to swing at everything, with an inordinate number of strikeouts as a result...
