This was in the recent Leica newsletter:

__New maintenance service for Leica R and M cameras

Leica Camera AG, Solms is now offering a new
maintenance service for Leica R and Leica M camera
models. The maintenance work is matched to the particular
camera system. The price for the Leica R camera check
covers the adjustment of the exposure meter, automatic
exposure mechanism and the shutter speeds, the cleaning
of the mirror and the viewing screen, the renewing of seals
and cleaning the camera exterior. The maintenance service
for a Leica rangefinder camera comprises the adjustment of
the exposure meter (for all models from LEICA M6 and
LEICA M5 onwards), the rangefinder and the shutter
speeds, plus cleaning of the camera exterior. The
inspection of the functions will be confirmed with a
certificate. If the camera develops any defect up to one
year after the check unless caused by external factors, it
will be remedied free of charge.

Very encouraging along those lines. Of course this means they have analysts
going over every syllable of the LUG! :)
