Hi Adam,
we had only one family holiday in the desert so I am hardly an expert. 
The most impressive thing I saw was Bryce canyon. I had never heard of 
it, it was recommended by the travel agent. I wish I had had more time 
there. Zion was disappointing, Monument valley and Grand Canyon 
magnificent.
