Yes. After hurricane Mitch in Honduras, I was wading knee deep through mud
on my way to an isolated village. My M6 slid off of my shoulder into the
mud. I fished it back out, washed it later in clean water and dried it by
the fire. It was fine and I continued to use it. Another time, I dropped
an M6 off the side of a canoe in the Patuca River in Honduras. The boatman
snagged the strap with his stick and dumped the camera back in the bottom
of the canoe in muddy water. It, too, dried out by the fire and was
fine. These cameras were sent to Leica for CLA afterward and they found no
damage. (I may want to sell them on the LUG someday ;-))
