I don't believe the Summilux was ever made with a 58mm thread. That 
was the Noctilux; the Noctilux changed from 58 to 60mm about the time 
the Summilux first appeared. They then shared the same hood for a 
while.

If the inside of the foam only allows a 57mm outside diameter on the 
lens, then it's not for the Summilux. Even the 90AA, which uses 55mm 
filters, has a 63mm diameter.
