Subject: [Leica] Digital Module R

Like many of you, I am disappointed at the new delays for the Digital
Module for the R cameras. I do not want to wait up to another year to
get a digital SLR and I don't want to deal with the limitations of my
Canon G5 digital for serious work for that long either. So I am
considering a Canon 20D with adapter for my R lenses. I think I will
get the basic Canon 17-85 mm zoom with Image Stabilization although it
is a bit slow. (The G-5 has an f/2.0 lens!)

I have not yet been able to find and handle a 20D. So I have some
questions:

Has anyone used a 20D yet with R lenses?
How is the viewfinder?
Is the viewfinder bright enough for manual focussing?
How is the shutter lag?
What are the advantages and downsides of this approach?

Any experience and advice anyone can offer will be much appreciated.
