Subject: [Leica] Yasuhara Reccieved Quick Review--why buy one?

Hey, that's a great idea for a camera where shake is a problem. I had a
Philips turntable back in 1972 that had the concentric ring off/on
switch.

the CLE had concentric electrical contacts on the shutter release that
turned the meter on from the conductivity of your finger touched it. it
think a slight pressure also worked if you were wearing gloves. the X700
and their other SLR line of the time had the same release type. the CLE
also used the same TTL as the X line.

interestingly, the CLE used a metring system similar to the Olympus OM2
which read light exposure reflected off the film (or front shutter at
high shutter speeds).

the CLE sort of threw together a bunch of novel features into one
camera. it was my first "M" body.
