Have you run that by a lawyer?

If you're going to the trouble of having somebody sign a release, I'd also
suggest having a lawyer make sure you stay out of trouble.  Seems to me that
it could be argued that it's not a valid contract if the valuable
consideration was never actually given to the other party.  I'm not a
lawyer.  I don't even play one on TV.

In the news recently was a case of a photographer being up the river without
the proverbial paddle for trying to blackmail Cameron Diaz using allegedly
forged model releases for topless pics he had taken of her before she became
famous.
