John,

I am still looking for a good deal on a used scanner, so I am still using my
local Wal-Mart 1-Hour Service to develop C41 and give me a CD, no prints.
They provide a 1-sheet index print at no cost. Although these are not high
resolution scans, they are adequate for posting on the Web, and the cost is
minimal. I load the images on my HD and examine them, then use PS Elements
to edit any that I find worthwhile.

Hope this helps.
