1. it is currently posted on the Geoge Washington Bridge
that photography is forbidden.  i beleive but am not certain this 
policy was instituted shortly after 9/11/2001.

2. in the foreward to "Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge"
the author recounts how the drawings for the book had to be done
surreptitiously because of security surrounding the bridge in 1942.
