[Leica] M8 cleaning mystery

Mine is very very red and I still have it. It's funny about this
thread because I was about to post a similiar question a while ago and
then the idea slipped into the infinite bit-bucket (part of my mind is
write-only memory, I'm sure) and I never asked.

They made a small brush for cleaning the stylus too. I even have some
fluid left for both of them should I need to put on a Sheffield
direct-to-disk recording to demonstrate what analog recording was all
about. I've now completely forgotten everything I ever knew about
cartridges and my Hafler pre-amp is gathering dust. (I didn't ever get
into the extreme audiophile world with $100 cables. Once I started
seeing fiber-optic cables going for those kind of prices I realized
that it was total foolishness.)
