Simon,
It is good to see you posting on the list again.  Your daughter is
growing up fast and will be at least as lovely as her mother.  If the
drugstore is using a Fuji Frontier you can request that they lower the
sharpening before they scan, it is a menu option that is easy to set
and then reset for the masses.
