That's what drew me to look at Sexton's work a bit closer, as I tend
to obsess over the technical a little more than the other shooter
next to my elbow. I can't say I was overly impressed with his
printing, or his compositional style.

I take exception...... Sexton's prints sometimes have no "life" to

But not sharp? Nope. Sharper than the proverbial snot.

Ditto Adams, unless you are looking at early works....

Having seen up close nearly a dozen Sexton prints, they are not
overly sharp. The same can be said for A. Adams images, of which I've
seen over a couple dozen. They are more interested in tonality, a
remnant from the early days of uncoated lenses, graded papers, and
scratch mixed chemistry.
A lowly Irving Penn print from 2? can blow theirs out the water
without any effort.

Should be a good film, but they are using John Sexton to promote who
usually shoots large format so of course it will be sharp!
