I always have the giant blunderbuss lens hood on my Summarit (the one
Stephen sells) to avoid the flare problem. I think you'll see a big
improvement after the cleaning. I believe that the lubricants used during
that era of Leica production tended to evaporate and leave a film on inner
surfaces.
