Hi Ted,

I have a customer that when he buys CDs he leaves the boxes and take the CD
on his pockets!

But I understand what you mind, sometimes we have a certain "guilty"
impression, after we are very happy with our new toys, as Michiel said this
is an important hobby for us, we can't have all, finally I think it is
better share our passion..., at least generally...

Thanks for your nice message !

Saludos cordiales
Luis

Guys and Gals,

It never changes whether you're married one year or me coming to the 59th
with cameras around here all the time.

I've learned and tried every trick in the book to get a new piece of gear in
the house without being caught within 24 hours to a max of 48! :-)

The stealth we engage in complete with the over riding terror of being
caught is enormous! :-) Rarely successful!

The problem is, once we have it in the door and nothing is said we figure
we've got it made, right? Then we stupidly leave it on a table or playing
with it in the family room. And then you hear in a very cutting tone, "HELLO
WHAT DO YOU HAVE THERE?" RINGS IN YOUR EARS AT GREAT VOLUME!

Or worse? A quiet like hissing sound much like a rattle snake about to sink
their fangs to your body, "New lens?" You cringe to one side hoping the
strike will miss. Alas it doesn't!

You quickly swallow hard trying desperately to explain any number of reasons
why you have it and absolutely none of it washes! You cringe even more so
hoping your photo death comes quickly! :-)

OK so it's never been quite that bad, but close too many times to tell all!
:-)

Best bet? Never ever take the new boxes in the house! Always leave them out
side like in the garage or a neighbour's place. Then put the new piece of
gear in your "old camera bag" and walk in just like the good old times. And
for heaven sake not with the look of a Cheshire cat smile on your face
looking like you've just got away with it!

She'll know as soon as she looks at you! You know why?

You'll have the same stupid expression you had on your face coming home late
from the club at 2 a.m. a little worse for wear after a few too many! Look
like that and you are dead! But damn it's fun. If you duck quick enough! :-)

LOL! We have only the half of 30 yrs. on the counter, but I could manage
that my wife supports my photographical activities, as long as I make many
shots of the kids an none of her. Ok, she does not see the difference
between a newly bought lens and one I already owned - these vented hoods
look all the same :-)! But even the newly aquired Mamiya 645 passed the
in-house customs without troubles, the other week. Just said it makes
especially beautiful kid portraits.

Discussions about a new car or a roof repair tend to go longer.
