Mehrdad... all you do is to open up the back door ( remove the plug from the
back of the unit) and it will function for a full 6' long roll?
Do you get scratches from the metal rear panel or from whatever is inside
the 4000/5000?

That little trick would save me a lot.... will it work with the model 5
instead of the 5000? ( big price difference for the 5000, but it will not
accept the full roll adapter)

frank i have had the 4000 and currently have the 5000. overall the
same with the 5000 being a faster one. same resolution just a bit more
option that won't make that much difference (d-lighting is one that
comes to mind, and only if u use the nikon software)

on the roll adapter, there is a trick that can turn the regular 6
strip to a roll reader, u just have to open the back as though u have
a roll adapter. i use the nikon software and hamrik's vuscan
interchangeably. there is a but with the current xp version of nikon
that hangs now and then
