But Nathan you are a photographer first! Don't sweat the numbers crap as it 
doesn't mean anything "AFTER THE PICTURE IS TAKEN!"

I imagine  techie people want to know this stuff, but does it really mean 
anything after the picture is recorded as a brilliant photograph or a happy 
snap of nothing?

One of the troubles with digital is the techie designers have built in all 
this extra stuff we in the real world of the film times never knew, nor did 
anyone ever concern what the hell an exif was! It didn't exist, so why 
bother with it today.

That is unless someone can point out to me that knowing and using it? It 
will truly improve my photographs.
