Hi Luggers,
This morning we took the slow ferry with the open back deck (great for
photos) from Central to Mui Wo on Lantau Island to visit a friend's
shop and have lunch at the Turkish restaurant. Luggers who have
visited us in Hong Kong will know the routine. I took along the D700,
the 90mm R Summicron and the 28mm R Elmarit, Here are a few photos.
The air wasn't as clear as the other day but still not bad.

This is one of the Macao fast ferries. I had the 90 cron on the D700 -
the ferry, too close, filled more than the frame, so I took two shots
and stitched them together in photoshop. The program works
exceptionally well - with the main subject moving fast - it still
managed a seamless stitch.

Here is a two panel pano of the Discovery Bay ferry leaving Mui Wo for
Disco Bay. Taken with the 28 Elmarit R on the D700 and stitched in CS4

This is an "Er Hu" (two string) player earning his money on the
walkway to the Star Ferry in Central. I gave him a few dollars so he
didn't object to the photo but he didn't want to look at the camera.
The 90 Cron on the D700

The Star Ferry "Solar Star" leaving Central for Tsim Sha Tsui across
the ever diminishing harbour. Shot from the shadow side. The 90 Cron
on the D700 - two panels stitched together. Note how well the waves
blend - CS 4 is a great program.

When we got back to Central we took the tram home and I grabbed this
picture of two older Tram Lovers.
Again the 90 Cron R on the D700. It is cropped to about half the frame.

Please enjoy and please look especially at the panos large.

C&C always welcome

Howard (happy to be back in HK)
