I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas is even re-branded Bosch these days. Great deals used because of the low resale value. Unfortunately, you have to throw the car away when the German ZF, sealed "Never-needs fluid changes," transmission fails, or the German Nikasil cylinder coatings wear out. I had a Bimmer once. Bright Orange 320i. Fast, but I didn't own it long enough to comment on reliability. They don't stay right-side -up! ;-( I have owned two Audis in the past. Also great deals second hand, as the resale value was very low -- for good reason! There never was a time when everything was working. You always have a priority list for the repairs. Sunroof or window not closing rises to the top in Winter. I was in an Audi dealer getting parts when they had promotion for a three year lease. I told the salesman that having owned two Audis, I can say that is the right length of time to own one. He smiled and walked away. Now we have a 2001 ML430 Skyview and a 94 E320 cabriolet, both with priority lists. Things like the $120 cup holder the Beagle jumped on. I am told that the ML gets totaled when the day comes that the skyview roof does not close! Like people, they all have their issues!
