I think the best upgrade would be an accessory, not unlike the
Leicavit, in which extended battery life could be gotten from. Either
by a new totally rechargeable set of Li-Ion Leica-specific cells or by
6-8 rechargeable batteries available easily on the drugstore shelf. The
ability to use Alkaline, Lithium and NiMH batteries could be added via
a regulator switch in the new battery pack body.
I've been dreaming of something like this for a few years now but no
one has come up with it for some reason. I'm no electrical engineer,
nor do i have the tools or materials to fashion the chassis of this
battery pack.
But THIS is what we need, for existing M8 and M9 bodies, not an M10.
