My thoughts exactly. It would have been a fairer shoot out if he had used a 
40mm summicron from the 1960's on the MM.
Not to mention that you could buy three sets of the D800E plus latest 50 
f1.8 for the price of the MM + 50 cron Asph.
And the D800E will still shoot in colour should you ever need it and also in 
video too (although that I won't ever need I don't think),
